The Gran Bahia Principe Akumal All Inclusive, fronted by a beach of white sand and in some sections, of rock, lies between a green mangrove jungle and the turquoise water of the Caribbean.
It welcomes families, couples, and singles. Holiday possibilities exist for group activities or solitary rejuvenation. Beach and poolside sundecks blend into one another, providing a large area for sunbathing on lounge chairs or napping on hammocks beneath thatch-roof palapas. The main swimming pool is interlaced with palm trees and greenery, and offers spa tubs. The powdery white sand and rock beach extends a kilometer (more than a half-mile) in length past this resort and its neighboring sister resort and slopes to meet the Caribbean. In parts, the sand extends inland as far as 91 meters (100 yards). Dotted with trees, natural vegetation, and plenty of iguanas, this area offers secluded sunbathing, strolling, and areas for games.
A main swimming pool in the shape of a lake for activities, with a special area for children; two relaxation pools with jacuzzi, both with children's section (one of these is exclusively for guests of the Club Hacienda Príncipe) and a gigantic open-air jacuzzi; a large solarium with sunloungers and sunshades; private beach; towel service at pools and beach. Mini club for children. Amphitheatre for shows and performances. Five tennis courts, a water sports centre and a gym. Shops offer emergency items as well as gifts.
